Testimonials

Good evening, Malik!

I want to take a moment to Thank You. You once asked me if I was living my dream, I said no…but after some reflection and recent events, the truth is I am living my dream. I am doing what I love and pursuing what I love. I can feel myself living the life 15 year old me dreamed of, and I feel like I’m on track for even greater things.

Ever since meeting you I have let your words, “Don’t miss the moment,” guide me. Ever since then I have found myself attracting people who are in alignment with me.

Thank you for inspiring me. You have touched many people’s lives in different ways, mine is one of them.

I hope you’re well and having a lovely Sunday.

Good morning my brother! I hope all is well with you and your family. Hope your Thanksgiving was great!

Dante told me about yesterday evening. He was very excited about being invited and seeing you again. Dante attending the STEAM Center and enrolling in your class made a huge impact on his life. I’m truly grateful for the doors that you opened for him. Where he is in his life right now is not normal for an 18 yr old and I’m beyond happy and excited.
Thank you again!
💪🏾
I’ll be in touch, David

Hi Malik,
It was a pleasure meeting you at your conference this month and seeing you again at LISC NYC! I wanted to thank you for such a transformative convening. I left the two days inspired and motivated to execute. That week after I registered my LLC with New York State-something I had been putting off for months.  I am a consultant who brings 13 years of experience who partners with the public, private and non profit sectors to advance inclusive economic development strategies and economic opportunity partnerships.  It was definitely an event that encouraged action. I will register as an MWBE when I make the year mark and leverage those great government contracts I learned about at your conference as well!

I shared more about my experience attending your event on my LinkedIn Profile here-feel free to connect and share :

Please also see attached our picture. I look forward to staying connected and exploring ways to partner.

Thank you!

Still reflecting on an enriching two days of personal and professional growth in community with Bronx and Harlem’s own actor, entrepreneur, educator and developer Dr. Malik Yoba at his conference. “Flipping the Hood: From the Ground Up” at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation

Thank you for orchestrating this historical #activation event. We all networked with and heard from black and brown leaders across sectors from developers, authors, philanthropist, architects, designers, technologist, educators, social workers, to government and elected officials and more. They came from all over the nation to share their stories and the “how to” of ownership, generational wealth building, real estate, community and economic development, growing a business, tax credits, grants, government/private contracts, career mobility, and leveraging tech, data, information and accessing capital.

It was also inspiring to witness how Dr. Yoba puts youth empowerment at the front and center (literally!) and made sure there were high school and college students incorporated into all facets of the program from beginning to end.

By far one of the most transformative, inclusive, and authentic experiences I’ve had in a long time! Huge congrats to all who participated you are all a testament of turning your vision of success into reality, lifting as you climb and leaving your legacy.

“God bless for the opportunity and new knowledge today Malik ! it was a powerful construction went into this event, and i’m glad it is coming to fruition for you & the black excellence working to learn how to recycle our integrity within each other.

My Y&D for the day was Young and Determined, It’s a mission for us, Im newly 21 just aged up on march 7th of this year, & i lost my father 5 months ago to heart failure. sudden death experience. Just working to be avid in my learning and faith, leading the path for my mother & two older sisters into a new chapter of generational and financial freedoms. It was a great takeaway today & looking to learn more tomorrow 💯🙏🏽” Josh ( Frank Farleys Nephew)

Mr Malik, I’m the young brother Joshua Nathaniel, that had the blessing to attend your event in the spring with my Uncle Tim Fraley,

it was a seriously life changing experience sir, and at the time going through what i was going through in life; i had experienced that imposter syndrome you spoke about in your presentation. I didn’t feel like i was good enough to be there, or capable of being right for real estate; I had doubted myself and felt like i had more work to do before asking for more ways to learn.

you helped me learn more about me, through that and it challenged me to set goals and achieve higher. and I’m really trying to better my life for my mother.

If there’s any way i could expand my knowledge and invest my money in to the field id appreciate being able to continue under that leadership and energy i experienced with your community
